2019 Take Your Child to Work Day

April 25th was Take Your Child to Work Day. City employees were invited to bring their kids for an afternoon of free tacos, drinks, and arts and crafts in the City Hall Rotunda.

Ward 7 Councilman Basheer Jones took to the podium to remind everyone, parents and children, to love and cherish one another. He also spoke on his own relationship he had with his mother.

Afterwards, Chief of Public Affairs Natoya Walker-Minor stepped up to the mic, leading the attendees in a brief song and motivational speech, capping off with a simple message for all the kids to remember: “I am making a commitment to be my best self.”

Finally, Sergeant Charmin Leon and Assistant Cuyahoga County Persecutor Carl Sullivan shared the podium as they brought up concerns of online safety with parents and children. They reminded kids the dangers of improper social media use and that what you post today could follow you for the rest of your life.
