Age-Friendly Programming

Attention viewers, young and old! It should come as no surprise that Cleveland is an accessible city for all. From our city services to our bike lanes and public transportation, Cleveland continues to make strides in bringing opportunity to every resident, regardless of age.

As a result of our efforts, in 2014 Cleveland was recognized by the World Health Organization as an “age-friendly city.” Since then, TV20 and the Cleveland Department of Aging have worked together to bring informative content and programming to the senior residents of Cleveland.

Be sure to subscribe to our Youtube channel and email notifications to stay up to date on all of our Age-Friendly content. You can also follow TV20 on Twitter – @TV20Cleveland and on Facebook – TV20 Cleveland

Age-Friendly Cleveland

A result from years of hard work and research by the Cleveland Department of Aging, Age-Friendly Cleveland brings the most helpful and reputable partners and organizations for older adults right to your screen.

Covering everything from the Social Security Administration to the adult outreach programs of the Cleveland Public Library, Age-Friendly Cleveland has a wealth of life improving episodes.

Thrive Where You Are!

In a collaboration with the Cleveland Department of Aging and Cleveland State Universities’ Physical and Occupation Therapy program, Thrive Where You Are is an exercise series aimed at older adults.

It’s been shown that even in old age, daily physical activity can prevent some diseases and disabilities, while also encouraging an independent lifestyle.

Senior Day

Celebrating its 30th year, Senior Day is one of the many older adult oriented events put on by the Cleveland Department of Aging. From age-friendly vendors to live music and stage performances, Senior Day is an afternoon of celebration and recognition for the older adults of Cleveland.

Members of the Cleveland City Council award the older adults of their ward, who have continued to service their city and community into their golden years.

Senior Walk

A collection of social and physical events, Senior Walk is geared towards getting the older adults of Cleveland out of their homes and out into their communities for an afternoon of safe and proactive exercise.

Brought to you by the Department of Aging and the Division of Recreation, Senior Walk highlights not only the importance of an active lifestyle, but also the accessibility of Cleveland’s parks and recreation centers.

To register for this summer’s Senior Walks, you can contact Fallon Peterson at 216-664-4383 or fpeterson@city.cleveland.oh.us
