CIAO! Cleveland

Saturday October 5 @ Noon – 10 PM
Alongside the Lake Erie Waterfront in the Flats East Bank


CIAO! Cleveland is an outdoor celebration of Italian Culture! The festival will be open to the public as a free event on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 12pm to 10pm alongside the Lake Erie Waterfront in the Flats East Bank. The day will feature Wine Tastings, Cooking Demos, Fashion, Art, Alcohol, Coffee, Music and of course FOOD!


Convencion Hispana 19

Convención Hispana ’19 – Hispanic Roundtable welcomes singer José Feliciano to Convención Hispana. This FREE event includes: Live Music & Food, Job Fair and Resource Fair with 100+ Booths.


Djapo Cultural Arts Open House

FREE Demo African Dance & Drum Class taught by Talise Campbell & Weedie Braimah. Come and learn about our Monthly & Weekly Dance Class Series, Special Guest Artists, Professional Development, Performance Opportunities, Voyage to Mali & Senegal and our New Rite of Passage Program for young girls ages 12-17. We will have a host of local vendors selling specialized products and Cindy Steele will be in the building providing face-painting for all children.


German Language Meetup – Stammtisch

Join us for some German conversation at our biweekly Stammtisch! We have all levels of proficiency, from native speakers to those just starting to learn – we’re a friendly bunch and would love to have you join us! The plan is to hold a Stammtisch every two weeks at the same time and same place, so if you can’t make it this time, keep an eye open for the next one! Every other Saturday starting at 2 pm we will utilize our German to whatever degree we are able – we usually have an advanced and beginners group depending on how many persons participate.


CWRU’s Navratri Garba

CWRU’s Undergraduate Indian Students Association would like to invite members of the Cleveland community to attend Navratri Garba, a celebration of an Indian festival that involves dancing and food.


8th International Cleveland Community Day

Cleveland Museum of Art, Ames Family Atrium and Gartner Auditorium


This annual festival is a day for honoring your heritage, celebrating your identities, and displaying them proudly. The day will include music and dance performances, art activities for every ability, in-gallery experiences, and dialogues united within the context of the museum’s global art collection. The day will also include a naturalization ceremony to welcome new U.S. citizens and a lineup of short films from the New York International Children’s Film Festival. Free


Iranian Films

Seventeen short and feature length films by the late, great Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami (1940-2016) will be presented by the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque in its upcoming series “Unknown Kiarostami,” September 14 through October 20. All have been newly restored. Cleveland theatrical premiere. Subtitles. Blu-ray. 110 min.


Cleveland Italian Heritage Month Opening

Monday October 7 @ 6 PM
City Hall Rotunda


Opening ceremony for Cleveland Italian Heritage month during which several members of the Italian American community will be honored for their contributions. Free and open to the public, no reservations necessary. Buffet dinner sponsored by the Order Italian Sons and Daughters of America following the ceremony.
