Healthy Cleveland: HPV and Vaccinations

TV20’s Leah Haslage sits down with the Director of the Office of Cancer Disparities Research, CWRU Dr. Monica Webb Hooper PhD, and the Director of Public Health for the City of Cleveland to discuss the risks factors of HPV, or human papillomavirus, and some preventive measures to take to protect yourself and your loved ones.

HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) according to the CDC.

About 79 million Americans are now infected with HPV. About 14 million people become newly infected each year. HPV is so common that most sexually active men and women will get at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives. (Center for Disease Control).
