Cleveland- On June 19th, Esperanza celebrated 25 years of excellence with its annual scholarship program “Fiesta of Hope”. Esperanza in Spanish language means “hope” and is a magnificent program to help improve educational opportunities for Hispanics in Greater Cleveland. It’s a program that highly supports high school graduation and promotes higher learning by offering scholarships, mentoring, academic, youth leadership and family engagement programs.

This year’s event was an extremely extraordinary success. Fiesta of Hope honored 106 scholarship recipients. As a part of Esperanza’s mission to improve the academic achievement of Hispanics in Greater Cleveland, Esperanza grants scholarships to a plethora of students entering or enduring their college education.  In addition, there were two Esperanza special scholarships awarded. Arelis Latimer is a 2015 recipient of the $5,000 Pablo & Denisse Cruz Scholarship and Jacob Rivera, 2015 recipient of the $10,000 Esperanza Cleveland State University Scholarship sponsored by William Roberts.
