Cleveland Opera Theater Performs La Bohème

Friday September 13 and Sunday September 15 @ 7 PM and 3 PM
Ohio Theater in Playhouse Square.


Cleveland Opera Theater, Cleveland’s premier professional opera company, will perform La Bohème, the beloved opera by Giacomo Puccini for the first time in the Ohio Theatre in Playhouse Square. This will be fully-staged with costumes, scenery and lighting. The opera will be performed in Italian with English language supertitles.


Global Cleveland Welcoming Week

Welcoming Week is a way of bringing communities together to celebrate the unity and strong connection with each other as well as to exhibit and applaud the benefits of welcoming newcomers. Global Cleveland is a welcoming voice for the community and a force in Cleveland promoting equity and inclusion practices throughout our region. We are here to help and serve immigrants and newcomers who come to Cleveland/Cuyahoga County searching for economic opportunity and a better life. We strengthen our city by welcoming our world.

Global Cleveland is hosting a series of events on Welcoming Week 2019 from September 13th– September 20th, 2019.


Tour of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens

Tours of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens will be offered for $12. The tours last 90 minutes and include refreshments.  Call 216-220-3075 for more info and to reserve a spot.


Chilean Independence Event

African American Women’s Wellness Walk

The Northeast Ohio Black Health Coalition will host the 4th Annual African American Women’s Wellness Walk -Walk 4 R Sista’s. The walk will feature a medical screening and information area that will conduct screenings as well as provide information about services that are available in the community.


Cleveland International Piano Competition

Finishing off the Concert Series with a magnificent program of two pianos and piano duo works is Shai Wosner and Orion Weiss.


Films by Iranian Director Abbas Kiarostami

Seventeen short and feature length films by the late Iranian director, Abbas Kiarostami, will be presented by the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque in its upcoming series “Unknown Kiarostami,”

Admission to each program is $10; $7 for Cinematheque members, CIA and Cleveland State University I.D. holders, and those age 25 & under. Free parking for filmgoers is available in Lot 73 and the Cleveland Institute of Art Annex Lot, both off E. 117th Street south of Euclid Avenue. For further information, visit
