West Side Market 100th Birthday and More This Weekend!

After the disaster that was Hurricane Sandy this week we do have something to celebrate- the West Side Market 100th Birthday! This year there have been a few different celebrations, such as the recent Parade and Party in the Park, but this weekend is the official birthday of the Market. TV20 reporter Leah Haslage will be there this weekend to cover all the fun! Kicking things off this evening is the People’s Party at Crop Bistro! (http://clevelandfoodrocks.com/2012/mission/) 50 of Cleveland’s top chef’s will be supplying food for the event, and bands such as Cream of the Crop will be playing for the over 1000 people attending. Then Saturday, November 3rd at the West Side Market is the official  Birthday Gala! (http://wsm100.org/) Cleveland’s Iron Chef Michael Symon, as well as Food & Wine’s Best New Chef Jonathan Sawyer have teamed with Medical Mutual to put on this wonderful celebration. Great Lakes Brewery will be debuting their newest beer in honor of the Market’s milestone called Butcher’s Brew. A historical time in Cleveland you do not want to miss!

This weekend is also the Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration in Gordon Square District! Justine Greenwald with Reel Cleveland will be there for this family friendly event! Face painting, mask-making, live music and dancers are some of the cool things you’ll experience at this annual event. http://diademuertosohio.com
