For 27 years, the citizens, businesses, and employees of Cleveland have been giving to those who are in need this time of year.

Hosted at the Michael Zone recreation center, Zelma George recreation center, and the Cleveland Food Bank, this year’s Mayor’s Food Basket Giveaway saw the same outpouring of generosity from the Cleveland community it has seen the past 27 years.

More than 2200 food baskets were put together for families in need.

Friends, family, and community leaders worked together in a production line style to unload donations, unpack boxes, sort donations, and transport the gift baskets to families.
Mayor Frank Jackson also hosted the Mayor’s Holiday Gala, his annual event whose proceeds go directly towards the Mayor’s Food Basket Giveaway.

Hundreds of volunteers donated their time and money to the cause.
