KYRIE ALL STAR

The Greater Cleveland Sports Awards, held by the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, is always a first class event.  This years award ceremony was very special. Kyrie Irving was in the building that evening because he was nominated for professional athlete of the year (which he did win!).  The real surprise of the night was a phone call Kyrie received shortly after winning his award.  The call was letting Kyrie know that he had been selected to the 2013 All-Star game taking place in Houston, Texas this year.

Kyrie did some joking around about being scared of air-balling his first shot and getting texted from Coach K who he said had never text one of his players ever.  Kyrie stated that his ultimate goal was to be a starter in the All-Star game. He definitely should be the starter now that Rajon Rondo has gone down with an ACL tear.  Kyrie is the number six overall in scoring with twenty-four points per game, and he is the number one overall scoring point guard in the NBA right now. Not to mention he already possesses the fourth quarter killer instinct gene.  Congratulations to Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Cleveland will definitely be well represented in Houston for All-Star Weekend!
