Introducing Age-Friendly Cleveland!

In a collaboration between TV20 and the Cleveland Department of Aging, we are proud to bring you “Age-Friendly Cleveland”!

In 2014, Cleveland was designated an “age-friendly” city by the World Health Organization (WHO) and were invited to join the Global Network of Age Friendly Cities (GNAFC), and then in 2015, joined the AARP Network of Age Friendly Communities. Since then, Cleveland has been  striving to maintain and improve it’s relations with older adults.

The Director for the Department of Aging, Mary McNamara, and her team, sought out to find what older adults of Cleveland were struggling with in their day to day lives.  Using that information, the Department of Aging devised a 21 step program to further improve Cleveland’s standing as an age-friendly city.

Age-Friendly Cleveland serves to inform not only about the steps that the City of Cleveland is taking, but also to introduce the many partners and organizations that are working closely together to ensure the success of the 21 step program.

We will be adding more episodes of Age-Friendly Cleveland, so make sure you subscribe & stay tuned to TV20!
