Yesterday members of the community joined Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Councilman Matt Zone in the official ribbon- cutting of the W. 76th Street Tunnel on Cleveland’s Near West Side. There were many speakers on hand, including ODOT’s Myron Pakush, Metropark’s Brian Zimmerman, LAND Studio’s Greg Peckham, DSCDO’s John Hausman, Marous Brothers’ Chip Marous and neighborhood resident Jim Catrone. Mr. Catrone gave a heart-warming speech about the importance of the tunnel and how he fought to keep it for our community. To celebrate the re-opening, dozens of local Cleveland cyclists and  pedestrians took the tunnel down to Edgewater Beach immediately following the ceremony. Just in time for the holiday, the W. 76th Street tunnel is now available to use!
