In this episode of Community Spotlight, host Leah Haslage sat down with Gloria McClendon, CEO of the Greater Cleveland Community Credit Union, to discuss their history & plans for the future.
Founded in November of 1937, the Greater Cleveland Community Credit Union was once known as the Civil Service Employees Association Credit Union, a credit union exclusively for public employees of the City of Cleveland. But in 2017, the credit union opened its doors to all residents of Cuyahoga county.
To be specific, if you “work, live, worship, or attend school” in Cuyahoga county, you’re eligible to join the Greater Cleveland Community Credit Union. If you’re interested, their main office is located in Cleveland City Hall.So if you’re looking for a loan for a new car, a mortgage for a house, or just credit counseling, the GCC Credit Union has all those resources available to you, and so much more. For the charitable among us, they even have volunteering opportunities.
