There’s no question that Cleveland is full of vibrant and rich cultures, with just about every corner of the earth being represented in some way. With so many cultures hosting their own events and celebrations, it can be hard to keep track!

121st Little Italy Feast of the Assumption

August 15-18 (Thursday – Sunday)
Mayfield and Murray Hill roads in Little Italy


The Feast mixes religious observance with expressions of cultural and neighborhood pride. Italian food, music, rides, Procession, etc.

  • Thursday, August 15 – Noon to 11 pm (Solemn Mass at 10 am/Procession following Mass)
  • Friday, August 16 – 6 pm to Midnight
  • Saturday, August 17 – Noon to Midnight
  • Sunday, August 18 — Noon to 11pm

Tour of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens

August 17 – Saturday 10:30 AM

Tours of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens will be offered for $12. The tours last 90 minutes and include refreshments. Call 216-220-3075 for more info and to reserve a spot.


La Placita

Open air market and festival celebrating our neighborhood’s rich Latino culture.


Umoja Celebration

Gardenview Park – 8700 St. Clair

Umoja Celebration – Year of Atonement Celebration Kickoff for 2020. Live music, dance, African drumming, African face-painting, Spoken word, Food Trucks, Ras Matunji and Earth Force Reggae African Clothing encouraged.


ContempOpera in Tremont

August 17 – Saturday 7 PM
Lincoln Park at W. 14th and Starkweather in Tremont


Is it opera? Is it musical theater? Is it classical? Is it pop? You be the judge at this entertaining annual concert of contemporary, crowd-pleasing “crossover” pieces featuring some of Cleveland’s finest performing artists! Free admission.  Repertoire includes selections from South Pacific, West Side Story, Into the Woods, Shrek the Musical, Sunset Boulevard and more! Concert presented as part of Tremont’s “Arts in August” Series.


St. Stephen Day Hungarian Festival

August 17-18 (Saturday & Sunday)
St. Emeric Church Grounds – 1860 West 22nd St.

Wide selection of traditional Hungarian foods, pastries and drinks. Performances by the Hungarian Scouts Ensemble, Harmonia and at 8PM the Torok Musical Ensemble from Hungary. Church tours, shopping, raffles and more.


2019 One World Day

August 25th – Sunday 11 AM to 6 PM
Cleveland Cultural Gardens – East Blvd. & Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
